Situated on Great Portland Street in London's W1 district, W1 Place merges modern design with timeless elegance in the historic Marylebone neighborhood, offering a rare new development along this prestigious street.
The area boasts a rich heritage, having been home to numerous historical figures. W1 Place pays homage to this legacy while creating its own architectural identity. Thoughtfully designed by Simon Bowden, the building harmonizes with the street's architectural diversity while reflecting contemporary aesthetics.
The facade features bright natural limestone paired with bronze floor-to-ceiling windows and cast-bronze balustrades, creating a play of light and shadow that animates the structure. Inspired by Japanese ceramic glazes, the balcony railings feature textured finishes that add artistic flair.
Tri-facing street exposure fosters pedestrian engagement with the building and surroundings, blending tradition with modernity to create a contemporary home within a historic locale.
